Bontems Method Breathing Course 2

Breathing 360°: optimising breathing from every angle

Breathing affects posture, pain, stress, sleep and performance. Nobody treats it as a whole. Until now.

When breathing goes wrong, it is never just one system at fault. This course brings together what osteopathy, neuroscience, nutrition, Chinese medicine and elite sport know about breathing, to make it a lever for health and performance, step by step.

In two parts: an online part, then two days of hands-on practice in person.

Who it is for: osteopaths and physiotherapists, ideally after the ENT & Breathing Assessment. Strength and conditioning coaches and sports professionals are welcome on the non-technical modules.

A course in two parts

Theory and approaches online, at your own pace. Then hands-on practice, together, over two days.

  1. 1

    Online

    Understand and connect

One module per approach with an interview of a specialist, and live virtual classes for your questions and cases.

  2. 2

    In person · 2 days

    Practise and put it together

Two days of hands-on practice with Daniel Bontems: the techniques, assessment on real cases. Dates and venues shared with subscribers first.

Every approach, layered together

One module per approach, each with an interview of a specialist, then a synthesis on real cases.

  1. Osteopathy

The diaphragm is not an isolated muscle: what we miss when we treat it on its own.

  2. The jaw, diaphragm and pelvic floor relay

    Three levels, one single pressure.

  3. Pain neuroscience

Why changing breathing can change pain.

  4. Autonomic nervous system

What research really says about the vagus nerve.

  5. Sleep

Breathing at night: spot, act, refer.

  6. Micronutrition, mitochondrial health and dietetics

When diet weighs on the breath.

  7. Acupressure

Points from Chinese medicine that patients can use on their own.

  8. The neurocognitive dimension

    Breathing, focus and mental load.

  9. Elite sport

What athletes teach us for every patient.

  10. The synthesis

Bringing every approach together into one care plan.

What you will be able to do by the end

  • Build a personalised breathing optimisation plan for each patient
  • Link dysfunctional breathing to pain, sleep, stress and fatigue
  • Work on the jaw, diaphragm and pelvic floor chain as a single system
  • Give patients self-management tools they will actually use
  • Know which colleague to call on for each lever, and how to work with them
A patient followed throughout

Followed from one module to the next, from the first assessment to the reassessment.
